Metro Research is an independent research site for AI and automation tools. We exist because most “best tools” lists online are advertisements in disguise — ranked by commission, not by merit.

What we do

We test automation platforms — Make.com, Zapier, n8n, Pipedream and others — on real accounts, running the same real-world scenarios on each: invoicing flows, lead follow-up, ChatGPT integrations, webhook handling. Then we publish what each tool actually costs at different volumes, where it shines, and where it breaks.

Our rules

Hands-on or it doesn’t publish. Every review is based on direct testing, not rewritten press releases.

No sponsored rankings. No tool can pay for a better score. If a link ever earns us a commission, we disclose it on the page.

Say the true thing. When a cheap tool is good enough, we say so. When a popular tool is overpriced at your scale, we show the math. We would rather lose a click than shade an answer.

Corrections

Tools change pricing and features constantly. If you spot something outdated or wrong, contact us — we fix errors fast and credit the reader who caught them.
