The Robert Bosch Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has proposed to launch an industry consortium to provide advanced technology information resource support to industries working on artificial intelligence.

The consortium will enable member industries to learn about scientific developments and the latest trends in AI and data science through interaction with the center and its faculty and access to events and workshops organized by the center.

Membership would help industries establish themselves early as key players in data science and the Al space with potential to secure new and important sources of revenue.

According to Balaraman Ravindran, Faculty Member of Mindtree and Director of RBCDSAI, “The idea is to use the consortium as a means of quickly disseminating the results of our research to industry partners so that we can work together on their application. in the field “.

At present, the center offers two membership plans to interested industries. RBCDSAI is an interdisciplinary research center with 28 professors from 10 departments at IIT Madras working on various aspects and applications of AI.

Research at the center covers deep learning, network analysis, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, theoretical machine learning, ethics, fairness and explainability in AI.

The center also undertakes applied research in verticals such as financial analysis, manufacturing analysis, smart cities, systems biology and healthcare, according to a statement.
