Queen’s University Belfast School of Nursing and Midwifery is currently seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate for the position of Principal Investigator.

They will join the research team led by Professor Donna Fitzsimons to work on a project funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing entitled ASMOSUS: co-creation of a digital resource to develop students’ skills in cardiovascular risk assessment , motivating change and maintaining a healthier lifestyle within themselves. and others.

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and the delivery of ASMOSUS. The successful candidate will be a fundamental pillar of the project. They will take the initiative to effectively manage the complexity of implementing mixed methods research; oversee the co-creation of a digital educational resource with nursing students and staff; maintaining communication between the centers (Queen’s University Belfast and Edinburgh Napier University); manage recruitment and data collection; strengthen established collaborations; and assist in data analysis and dissemination.

The successful candidate must have, and your application must clearly demonstrate that you have:

  • A relevant degree with a completed PhD in a relevant subject (i.e., cardiovascular disease, chronic disease, lifestyle management, or public health)
  • Substantial relevant experience in mixed methods approaches
  • Experience in implementing co-design research methods
  • A publication record supported in peer-reviewed/peer-reviewed journals or invited presentations that are REF returnable.

This is a fixed-term contract available until 16 October 2024. Fixed-term positions are available for the period indicated initially, but in special circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to the availability of funds.
